This unit is truly “better by design”. Our breakthrough Segment Conductor (SC) technology increased the winding density in our stators and armatures, allowing for smaller units, 20% weight reduction and 50% more power than conventional alternators.
That’s because DENSO engineers came up with the first square wire design. Conventional wires are rounded, which creates gaps when you lay them against each other. (Think about oranges stacked in a crate). By contrast, the wires in the DENSO SC alternator are square, creating more density, more power and smaller, lighter units.
